Crusaderettes too much for Lady Warriors

Pocahontas County seniors Laila Calhoun, left, and Charity Warder were named to the Mary 'O' Crusadarette Classic all-tournament team.
PARKERSBURG -- Class A, No. 3 and host team Parkersburg Catholic defeated No. 9 Pocahontas County, 75-42, in the championship game of the Mary "O" Crusaderette Classic on Saturday.
Aaliyah Bunny had 21 points, Madeline Huffman 20 and Leslie Huffman 19 points for the Crusaderettes (6-0).
Laila Calhoun led the Lady Warriors (6-3) with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Charity Warder netted 11 points, grabbed eight boards, collected a pair of steals and blocked two shots.
Alexa Taylor finished with eight points and Kira Bircher six.
Calhoun and Warder were named to the all-tournament team for their efforts during the two-day tournament.
Pocahontas County, which defeated Herbert Hoover on Friday, will host Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
