Balanced attack leads EMS boys past Knights

ELKINS — The Elkins Middle School boys varsity team improved to 5-1 with a 50-42 victory over Taylor County Wednesday night at EMS gym.

Brock Holland had 10 points for the Hornets, followed by Isaiah Merritt, Griffin Boggs and Nate Hulver all with eight apiece.

Rylan Wymer added six.

Issac Loush had 11 and Isaiah Vanscoy nine for the Knights.

Dylan Hinzman netted 11 points as EMS (4-0) took the junior varsity game by a 36-31 decision.

A.J. Friedman and Riley Rider added six points each.

Mason Markley had nine points and Kenny Humphrey seven for Taylor County in the loss.

Elkins will travel to Buckhannon-Upshur today. JV action is set for 6 p.m.
