BRIDGEPORT -- The Elkins Middle School varsity girls basketball team played their third overtime game of the season on Thursday night, outlasting Bridgeport, 17-15.
Addy Cogar and Emerson Haddix led the Lady Hornets with five points each.
"It was a good team win," EMS coach Clint Bennett said. "We didn't have a lot of shots fall. But I always tell the girls, our defense should always travel with us and we were very locked in on defense.
"I was proud of the effort from our girls."
The Lady Hornets also claimed the JV contest 26-13 as Karah Bennett had seven points, followed by Erin Collins and Maura O'Neill with six each.
Elkins will return to action Tuesday at home against Belington. JV action will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity contest.
