MORGANTOWN -- Less than a week after knocking off then-No. 2 Ohio State, West Virginia is set to begin Big 12 Conference play today against Kansas inside historic Allen Fieldhouse.
Game time is set for 4 p.m. and the action will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The 16th-ranked Mountaineers (11-1) received a career-high 21 points from Miles "Deuce" McBride and a strong defensive effort in the second half in handling the Buckeyes, 67-59, in Cleveland.
"I wasn't very happy with them at halftime because I didn't think we played as hard as they did and we got in foul trouble," WVU coach Bob Huggins said. "Then they came out in the second half and played as well as we've played defensively all year."
Senior guard Chase Harler added 10 points and sophomore forward Derek Culver seven points and 10 rebounds in the win.
Culver and freshman frontcourt sidekick Oscar Tshiebwe -- the Mountaineers' leading scorer -- both were plagued with early foul trouble.
Tshiebwe had no points and four fouls in just eight minutes of action.
The third-ranked Jayhawks, the preseason pick to win the league, enter the matchup 10-2, with losses coming to Duke and a last-second setback at No. 10 Villanova two weeks ago.
Point guard Devon Dotson averages 18.8 points, four rebounds and 4.6 assists to lead Kansas, while center Udoka Azubuike is hitting for 13 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
West Virginia will remain on the road after today's game for another Big 12 matchup at Oklahoma State on Monday.
