FAIRMONT -- The Elkins Middle School boys basketball team concluded the season by splitting games against Robert L. Bland in consolation action of the East Fairmont tourney on Friday.
The Hornets captured a 45-42 victory over the Patriots in the varsity game.
Brock Holland had 16 points in the victory, followed by Nate Hulver with 13 and Griffin Boggs and Anthony Anderson with six points each.
Tanner Griffith led RLB with 18 points.
The EMS junior varsity team suffered just their third loss of the season in dropping a 39-35 decision to the Patriots.
Aiden Lambert had 17 points for the Hornets.
Lucas D'Angelo and Drew Hinzman chipped in with six points each.
Caden Kelly led the Robert L. Bland with 10 points.
Elkins finished the season with a 14-6 record in varsity action.
The Hornets went 15-3 in junior varsity play.
