WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan softball team dropped a pair of games during their spring trip on Thursday.
The Lady Bobcats were dealt a 2-1 loss to the University of Missouri-St. Louis in their first game of the day.
UMSL scored both of its runs in the fourth inning on a two-run single by Ali Schoon.
Wesleyan plated its lone score in the seventh when Brooke Clarke raced home on a passed ball.
Grace Smith had two of the Lady Bobcats' five hits in the game, while Clark, Alli Robinson and Kiley Turner added safeties.
Abigail O'Shields (2-1) took the loss, allowing just two runs on three hits in six innings of work. She fanned eight and walked just one.
Andee Tiffee (6-4) went the distance to garner the win. She gave up one run on five hits, striking out seven and walking three.
In the second game of the day, the Lady Bobcats fell to University of Mary by a 6-1 count.
Recording hits for Wesleyan were Robinson, Smith, Lauren Niglio and Turner.
Hannah Hudson (4-2) was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs on five hits in three innings. She had four strikeouts and issued six walks.
Casey Beemiller (4-2) pitched a complete-game four-hitter to earn the win.
Wesleyan (10-4) will return to action today.
