EMS booters blank Robert L. Bland

ELKINS — The Elkins Middle School boys soccer team posted a 2-0 win over Robert L. Bland Monday evening at Riverbend Park.

Lincoln Fletcher gave the Hornets a 1-0 lead at the 23:00 mark off a crossing pass from Isaac Anger.

Three minutes into the second half, EMS made it 2-0 on Kaden George’s goal off an assist from Tucker Cutright.

“We are starting to really play good soccer,” Hornets coach Ariel Valentine said. “I also want to mention my assistant coaches — Steve Belan and Kenny George — for all of their hard work with the team.”

Bobby Valentine earned the shutout in goal for Elkins, which is now 3-1 on the season and will visit East Fairmont on Monday.

In a win last week over Taylor County, Chiron Wing also tallied a goal for EMS.
