TV’s Holbrook earns low-medal laurels

SNOWSHOE — Tygarts Valley’s Andrew Holbrook fired a an under-par 37 to win low-medalist honors during a four-team match Tuesday at the Raven Golf Club.

Holbrook is the lone golfer out for the Bulldogs this fall. He had shot his first high school under-par round with a 35 last week against Moorefield.

“Andrew has been extremely consistent this year each match,” TV coach Jonathan Kyle said. “As we come down to our final two weeks of competition before our conference and regional events,

“I’m pleased with how he’s playing.”

Pocahontas County carded a 149 to edge Notre Dame’s 150 for team honors.

David Gibb paced the Warriors with a 46, followed by Hadden Mick (47), Michael Kane (56) and Ben Dunz (62).

Anthony Rogers tallied a 42 to pace the Irish, He was followed by Patrick Mehr (52), Karlie Minigh (56) and Gabe Urso.

Pendleton County placed third with a 163. The Wildcats were led by Tanner Townsend’s 47. Marshall Harper and Brayden Beachler had 58s and Cameron Beachler and Elijah Butler finished with 61s.
