Tigers roll to 66-40 win over Liberty

ELKINS -- Elkins used 30 points from sophomore Cory Harper and a dominating third quarter to roll to a 66-40 win over Liberty Tuesday night in Big 10 Conference play at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

The Tigers (1-1) took control late in the second quarter, taking a 34-22 lead into intermission before blowing the game open in the third quarter with a 23-3 scoring edge.

With EHS up 47-24, Harper scored 10 straight points to help the Tigers carry a 57-25 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Mitchell Price added 16 points for Elkins.

Isaac Walker had 17 and Jordan Jones 11 for Liberty (1-1).

The Tigers return to action Thursday at Lincoln.
