WHEELING — Notre Dame (Ohio) College took control early and never looked back in handing West Virginia Wesleyan an 80-33 setback Thursday in Mountain East Conference tourney quarterfinal play at WesBanco Arena.

The Lady Bobcats, who entered the game on a three-game win streak, ended the season with a 6-11 mark. They were held to just 15 field goals and committed 24 turnovers against the stingy Lady Falcon defense.

“Hats off to the season we had,” Wesleyan coach Vicki Bullett said. “We just didn’t cut hard and handle (their pressure) like we should have.”

The Lady Bobcats, the fifth seed out of the Southern Division, never got on track, falling behind by double digits just 5 minutes into the game and trailing 47-15 at halftime.

Northern Division top- seed Notre Dame (14-3) was paced by Marina Adachi with 25 points.
