PHILIPPI -- The Philip Barbour girls placed third and the boys sixth at the Coach Jim Seaton Invitational held Saturday at George Byrer Field at BC Bank Park.
Tucker County won the girls meet with 109 points, followed by Grafton (99), Philip Barbour (95), Lewis County (79), Roane County (77), Nicholas County (71) and Gilmer County (2).
First-place finishers for the Lady Colts included Preslea Miller in the 100 hurdles (18.74), the 4×100 relay of Lydia Phillips, Callie Collins, Miller and Desiree Knotts in a time of 55.66 an the shuttle hurdle relay of Miller, Garyona Riffle, Phillips and Collins with an effort of 1:18.91.
Cadie Kittle was second in the discus with a throw of 86-07 and the 4×800 relay of Jaycee Everson, Megan Mitchell, Layna Grassi and Phaedra Payne was second with a time of 11:20.24.
Thirds went to Knotts in the 100 (13.92) and high jump (4-01), Mitchell in the 3,200 (15:27.43) and the 4×200 relay of Cheyenne Kittle, Harley McElroy, Miller and Phillips with an effort of 2:10.12.
Taking firsts for the Lady Mountain Lions were Hannah Hardy in the 3,200 (14:09.31), the 4×200 relay of Karlee Smith, Lillian Callaway, Kate Falls and Addie Buckley in a time of 2:04.55), Falls, Erin Chambers, Smith and Buckley in the 4×400 relay (4:53.45) and Falls, Hardy, Chambers and Smith in the 4×800 relay (11:20.14).
Nicholas County captured the boys meet with 136 points, while Lewis County (115) was third, Tucker County (87) fourth, Roane County (70) fourth, Grafton (51) fifth, Philip Barbour (37) sixth and Gilmer County (29) seventh.
For the PB boys, DeShawn Webster claimed the 100 (11.99) and long jump (19-09) and Jacob Davies, Matthew Croston, Brandon Carpenter and Webster were first in the 4×100 relay (50.02).
Tucker County's Tate Mullenax captured the discus (109-07) and shot put (39-10.50).
Philip Barbour is scheduled to travel to Grafton on Wednesday for its next meet, while Tucker County will compete at Buckhannon-Upshur on Tuesday.
