Tigers’ season concludes with sectional loss

SHINNSTON -- Lincoln used a strong second half to pull away from Elkins, 63-48, Wednesday night in Class AAA, Region II, Section 2 semifinal action.

The Tigers trailed 26-22 at the intermission but were outscored 37-26 over the final two quarters.

The Cougars' second-half surge was led by Zach Snyder, who scored 22 of his game-high 26 points after halftime.

He had 13 in the third as Lincoln built a 48-39 lead entering the fourth.

Sophomore Cory Harper had 17 points to pace Elkins.

Mitchell Price, one of five seniors playing their final game for the Tigers, added 12 and classmate Peyton Isner chipped in 11.

Trevor Chenoweth, Ben Boggs and Luke Jackson were the other Tiger seniors.

Westin Heldreth chipped in 16 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Cougars, who will travel to top-seed Robert C. Byrd at 7 p.m. Friday in the sectional title game.
