PHILIPPI -- Philip Barbour plated four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to hold off Buckhannon-Upshur, 6-5, Tuesday in Big 10 Conference play.
With the game knotted at 2-2, the Colts (8-6, 7-3 Big 10) used a two-run single by Nick Hamrick and a two-run double by Cody Cooper to take a 6-2 lead after five innings.
The Bucs battled back in the seventh with three runs as Elijah Arbogast cracked a two-run single and another run crossed on an error.
But with runners on second and third, Gage Bibey struck out the next two batters to end the game.
Bibey went all seven innings to earn the win, allowing five runs on 10 hits, fanning seven and walking three.
Arbogast took the loss in 1 1/3 innings of relief, giving up two runs on two hits, striking out two and walking one.
Isaac Lane got the start and went the first 2 2/3 innings. He allowed two runs on one hit, struck out six and walked five.
Brady Hurst saw two innings on the mound, surrendering two runs on two hits, fanning three and issuing two free passes.
Zach Calef-Boring had three hits and Jay Burnside and Arbogast two each for B-U, which is now 7-6 overall and 7-5.
Cooper had two hits for Philip Barbour, which is scheduled to visit Tucker County at 5 p.m. today.
The Bucs will travel to Fairmont Senior at 5 p.m. Thursday.
