Lady Colts used 10-hit attack to best Lewis

WESTON -- Philip Barbour pounded out 10 hits in claiming a 6-2 win over Lewis County Monday in Big 10 Conference action.

The Lady Colts (8-2, 8-2 Big 10) trailed 1-0 before Hailee Poling's RBI groundout in the fourth tied the game.

Philip Barbour added a pair of runs in the sixth on Preslee Fincham's RBI sacrifice fly and Poling's run-producing single to make it 3-1.

After the Minutemaids answered with a single run in the home-half of the frame, Sara Simon laced a two-run single and Lilley Criss an RBI single to make it 6-2.

Simon went all seven innings to earn the win, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out 16 with one walk.

Abby Hartley took the loss as she gave up three runs on six hits in six innings, fanning two and walking one.

Courtney Hartley had two hits and an RBI double and Mackenzie Gregory an RBI double for Lewis County.

The Lady Colts are scheduled to visit East Fairmont at 5 p.m. Thursday.
