Battler football coach excited about schedule

PHILIPPI –The Alderson Broaddus football team has announced their fall 2021 schedule.

The Battlers will play 11 regular-season games, which will be their first full season under head coach Travis Everhart.

The Mountain East Conference postponed the fall 2020 season, resulting in a shortened season in the spring of 2021.

AB played in four games this spring and had four Battlers named to the All-MEC teams.

“I’m excited for a full season and to see our growth as a football program,” Everhart said.

AB will begin its fall 2021 campaign on the road in a non-conference game against Mercyhurst University on Sept. 4.

The Battlers home opener will take place the following weekend on Sept. 11 against West Liberty University.

The Battlers will travel to Wheeling University on Sept. 18 and will return home for a game against the University of Charleston on Sept. 25.

AB will face West Virginia State and Fairmont State on the road in consecutive weeks on Oct. 2 and Oct. 9.

Homecoming is scheduled for Oct. 16 when the Battlers take on Glenville State in the I-79 Barrel Classic.

On Oct. 23, the Battlers will travel to Buckhannon to face West Virginia Wesleyan.

AB will begin a two- week home stand against Frostburg State and Concord on Oct. 30 and Nov. 6.

The Battlers will wrap up their regular season with a road trip to Notre Dame College (Ohio) to face the Falcons on Nov. 13.
