LOST CREEK -- Caden Hall and Wyatt Shears combined on a five-inning two-hitter as top-seed South Harrison sent No. 2 Tygarts Valley into the loser's bracket of the Class A, Region II, Section 1 tournament with a 10-0 win on Friday.
The Bulldogs (12-15) will now host the winner of Friday's Doddridge County-Notre Dame contest in an elimination game.
Leading 2-0, the Hawks struck for two more runs in the third on a two-run single by Camden Southern.
They made it 5-0 an inning later on an RBI groundout out by Zach Feathers.
The contest ended in the bottom of the fifth due to the 10-run mercy rule as South Harrison picked up five runs on an RBI double by Southern, run-producing singles from Dylan Richards and Hall, a bases-loaded walk to Feathers and a wild pitch.
Tygarts Valley's best scoring chance of the game came in the first when Matthew Pratt hit a two-out single and Noah Armstrong reached on a hit-bats-man.
Riley Tackett then drew a walk to load the bases but the threat ended on a strikeout.
Paden Haney had the only other hit for the Bulldogs with a lead-off single in the third.
Hall worked the first four innings to earn the win. He gave up both hits, struck out six and walked two.
Shears worked one inning, walking one and fanning one.
Tygarts Valley was plagued by four errors in the contest.
Feathers and Southern finished with three RBIs for the hosts, while Richards and Southern had two hits each.
Tackett took the loss in 2 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on just one hit, striking out three and walking four.
