PHILIPPI -- Top-seed Philip Barbour can secure the Class AA, Region II, Section 1 title with a victory over Lincoln today at home.

Game time is set for 6 p.m. A deciding contest will be held Tuesday if the Cougars win today.

The Colts (18-8) have been idle since getting a walk-off RBI single by Alex Wilson in a 3-2 victory over Robert C. Byrd on Wednesday.

Second-seed Lincoln, meanwhile, stayed alive by knocking off No. 3 RCB, 8-5, on Saturday as Jeremiah Carpenter collected three hits and a pair of RBIs and Levi Moore and Mikey Martin each knocked in a pair of runs.

Cody Gorby earned the win, going all seven innings and allowing seven hits and striking out five.

The winner of the sectional advances to face either Braxton County or Herbert Hoover next week in a best-of-three regional final, with the winner advancing to the state tournament.

Top-seed Herbert Hoover will host No. 2 Braxton County today and can clinch the Section 2 title with a victory. A Braxton win forces a deciding game on Tuesday.
