CHARLESTON -- Jayden Moore's walk-off two-run double lifted Moorefield to a 8-7 win over Williamstown Friday night in Class A semifinal state tournament action at Appalachian Power Park.
The top-seeded Yellow Jackets (21-5) will seek a third straight title today when they face Man or Charleston Catholic for the championship.
Moorefield trailed 7-5 entering the bottom of the seventh inning before loading the bases on a single from Bryce Hines, an error and a bunt single by Coleman Mongold.
After Hayden Baldwin cut the lead to 7-6 with a sacrifice fly for the second out, Isaac Van Meter was intentionally walked to load the bases for Moore, who doubled to left.
Van Meter earned the win in 2 1/3 innings of relief of starter Baldwin, who fanned nine batters.
Ethan Holbert had a two-run single as Williamstown scored four runs in the opening inning.
Matthew Jenkins also had a two-run single in the third for Moorefield.
The Class AAA title game is set for 10 a.m. as Bridgeport battles Hurricane, followed by North Marion vs. Logan in the Class AA championship. The single-A title tilt will follow.
The Huskies, making their first-ever state tourney appearance, defeated top-seed Independence, 7-2, on Friday to advance.
