CLARKSBURG -- Elkins placed third among four other Big 10 Conference squads in a triangular match hosted by Lincoln held Tuesday at Bel Meadow.
The Tigers finished with a team-total 161. They were led by Tanner Miller, who shot a 46.
Other scores for Elkins included Lucas D'Angelo (53) and Thomas Mixon and Danica Riggins, who each fired 62s.
"Our freshman players were more relaxed than they were in our opener on Monday," Tigers coach Dave Baird said. "I think they were more comfortable, even though it was a tougher course than our home one at the Elks."
Lincoln won the match with a team-score of 132 and was led by low-medalist Coby Gorby, who carded a 43.
South Harrison was second with a 148 and was paced by Luke Messenger's 48.
Lewis County finished one stroke behind Elkins with a 162. The Minutemen were led by Wyatt Burns' 50.
Elkins travels to Green Hills Country Club today to face North Marion.
"We are playing 18 holes, which will be a good experience for our team," Baird said. "We need the full day of work on the course and it prepares us for some of our bigger matches down the road."
