Lady Tigers best Tygarts Valley

ELKINS — The Elkins High School varsity and junior varsity squad both picked up wins over Tygarts Valley Thursday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

In the varsity match, the Lady Tigers earned a sweep by scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-23.

Elkins took the preliminary junior varsity tilt by scores of 25-5 and 25-5.

“It was a great evening of volleyball,” Lady Tigers coach Penny Crawford said. “We had a nice crowd and it was nice to see.”

The EHS JV squad will return to action Monday at Philip Barbour for a quad-match.

The Lady Tiger varsity squad is scheduled to host a triangular match on Wednesday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs’ next contest is slated for Tuesday at Petersburg.
