FAIRMONT -- Charlie Smoak and Lucas Anger placed among the top five as Elkins finished fourth in the Fairmont Senior Invitational Saturday at Apple Valley Golf Course.
East Fairmont won the meet with a score of 53, followed by Woodrow Wilson (58), Fairmont Senior (71), Elkins (98), Buckhannon-Upshur (109), Nicholas County (142), North Marion (176), Notre Dame (226) and South Harrison (228).
Grafton and Lewis County fielded non-scoring teams.
Smoak placed second for the Tigers in a time of 17:09.26, while Anger was fifth (17:39.84).
Other Tiger finishers included Isaac Anger 26th (19:20.23), Tyler McKisic 37th (20:08.26), Tyler Burda 38th (20:08.80), Brandon Rossi 45th (20:31.49) and Gavin Brown 55th (21:30.46).
Jordan Gillum was fourth (17:33.87) to lead B-U.
Woodrow Wilson's Aiden Kneeland turned in a time of 16:42.80 to place first.
The EHS girls fielded an incomplete squad and were led by Katie Collins' 13th-place finish (22:50.82).
Mallory Bennett was 17th (23:10.38) Kiley Edwards 24th (23:52.54) and Holly Harper 56th (28:10.47).
Winfield took team honors with a score of 60, followed by Woodrow Wilson (78), East Fairmont (79), North Marion (83), Fairmont Senior (111), Grafton (120) and Nicholas County (139).
Other non-scoring teams included Buckhannon-Upshur, South Harrison and Notre Dame.
Winfield's Rachel Withrow crossed the line in first in a time of 19:48.68 and B-U's Samantha Shreve was second (21:05.55).
Elkins is scheduled to take part in the Tucker County Invitational Tuesday at Camp Kidd.
