Runner-up Lady Colts place two on Big 10 first team

Elkins, B-U also place players on league’s first unit

PHILIPPI -- Class AA-A state runner-up Philip Barbour placed two players on the All-Big 10 Conference girls soccer team announced on Sunday.

Senior midfielder Audrey Williams and sophomore midfielder Braylyn Sparks earned first-team honors, while senior midfielder Graylyn Floyd and sophomore forward Arrington Sparks were selected to the second team.

Elkins High School senior midfielder Anna Belan was selected to the first team. The Lady Tigers were represented on the second unit by junior forward Alexa Price.

Garnering first-team honors for Buckhannon-Upshur were senior midfielder Cameron Zuliani and senior defender Kierra Arbogast.

Senior defender Miranda Greene was selected to the second team for the Lady Bucs.

Ally Bender of league champion Bridgeport was the Player of the Year.

The Coach of the Year was East Fairmont's Eric Wright.

The Class AA-A Region II teams were also revealed over the weekend.

Braylyn Sparks was the region's Player of the Year and Philip Barbour's Blake Williams the Coach of the Year.

Area players on the first team included Elkins' Belan, Price and Laney Fletcher and Philip Barbour's Williams, Floyd, Braylyn Sparks and Arrington Sparks.

Elkins' Addy Cogar and Gracelin Corley and PB's Jorjalynn Ward earned second-team nods.

Earning honors for B-U in Region I were Zuliani, Greene and Arbogast on the first team, senior Catherine Oliveto on the second team and junior Ashley Catlin as honorable mention.
