PHILIPPI -- The Elkins High School swim teams defeated host Philip Barbour and Grafton in a Big 10 Conference dual meet Tuesday night at Alderson Broaddus University.
The EHS boys defeated Philip Barbour, 117-26, and Grafton by a score of 98-36.
The Colts also claimed a 41-36 win over the Bearcats.
First-place finishers for the Tigers included the 200-yard medley relay team of Braxton Kenney, Isaac Anger, Luke Anger and Charlie Smoak in a time of 1:55.61, Isaac Anger in the 200 IM (2:06.01) and 100 freestyle (52.42), Luke Anger in the 100 butterfly (1:00.63), Kenney in the 500 freestyle (6:55.36) and the 400 freestyle relay of Luke Anger, Smoak, Izaak Whetsell and Isaac Anger in a time of 4:00.47.
Grafton's Will Angus took the 200 freestyle (2:08.81) and 100 backstroke (1:04.00) and teammate Layne England the 100 yard breaststroke (1:19.63) and 50 freestyle (25.84).
Philip Barbour's 200 medley relay team comprised of Xayden Kline, John McGee, Jayden Starks and Preston Swift was second with an effort of 2:25.82.
Starks also finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:07.66) and Swift second in the 500 freestyle (7:05.76).
In the girls meet, the Lady Tigers bested Philip Barbour, 96-71, and Grafton, 121-28.
The Lady Colts picked up a 105-33 victory over the Lady Bearcats.
Taking firsts for the EHS girls were the 200 medley relay of Joslyn DeWeese, Isabelle Judy, Rachel Shryock and Kaleigh Edwards in 2:09.22, Judy in the 200 freestyle (2:25.21) and 100 breaststroke (1:21.47), Shryock in the 200 IM (2:33.20) and 100 butterfly (1:09.71), Anna Crumm in the 500 freestyle (7:10.61) and the 400 freestyle relay of Judy, Edwards, Ruby Jackson and Shryock in a time of 4:26.65.
Philip Barbour's MacKenna Halfin took the 50 freestyle (26.97), Magnolia Shiflett the 100 backstroke (1:07.74) and Raeanna Davis the 100 freestyle (1:06.32).
The Lady Colts' 200 freestyle relay of Shiflett, Davis, Layna Grassi and Halfin also placed first in a time of 1:56.55.
