Malachi Watson had 12 points in the Tigers' 57-38 Big 10 Conference win over Lewis County on Wednesday night.
ELKINS -- Class AAA, No. 6 Elkins held Lewis County scoreless in the second quarter during a 57-38 Big 10 Conference win Wednesday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
The Tigers have won four straight games and now set at 10-3 overall and 6-2 in Big 10 games. They will be idle until traveling to Hampshire at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Elkins, which forced 25 turnovers -- 20 coming off of steals -- trailed 17-10 after the opening quarter but outscored the Minuteman, 19-0, in the second to take control and construct a 29-17 halftime lead, which increased to 48-22 entering the final period.
Cory Harper tossed in 24 points, grabbed six rebounds and collected four steals in the win, followed by Malachi Watson with 12 points and Jaydon Shreve with 10 points, nine caroms and three steals.
Owen Hunt had 13 points for Lewis County, which hosts East Fairmont this evening.
