EMS teams split games against Taylor County

GRAFTON -- The Elkins Middle School boys and girls basketball teams battled Taylor County on Saturday.

The Hornets split their games as the varsity squad dropped a 42-31 decision and were led by Landon Shreve with nine and Ethan Harner with seven.

Kaden Keener led the Wildcats with 18.

In the JV game, Elkins outlasted Taylor County, 41-37, in overtime to improve to 12-2 on the season.

Owen Stanley had 10 and Devin Hulver and Lincoln Fletcher 10 each for the Hornets.

Jacob Moats led Taylor County with 17.

Elkins visits East Fairmont on Tuesday.

In the girls varsity game, the Lady Hornets suffered a 35-26 loss.

Maura O'Neill had 12 and Jasmin Workman five for EMS, which hosts Green Bank on Tuesday.
