CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- Mountain Gymnastics Academy recently competed at the Rock Star Invitational gymnastics meet.
Approximately 700 gymnasts participated, representing 23 teams.
MGA's Xcel Gold team earned a team banner by capturing second place overall.
McKenzie Phillips from Philippi took first on bars, second on beam and second overall.
Brianna Hollen from Belington took first on vault and third overall. Mady Hurst from Elkins came in second on floor and Kaelyn Kirkpatrick came in second on bars.
In the Xcel Silver division L Raschella came in second on vault.
Several MGA gymnasts recently "leveled up" and were competing in their new levels for the first time.
In JO Level 4, Claire Kniffen from Beverly took second on bars and third all-around and in JO Level 6, Lily Hayes from Elkins came in third all-around.
MGA will be hosting an invitational gymnastics meet on March 12-13 in Elkins. Invitations have been sent to all area gyms, and MGA is accepting applications to participate.
