ELKINS -- Avery Hamer knocked in three runs to help Buckhannon-Upshur claim a 14-3 win over Elkins Middle School Thursday night at Betty Heckel Field.
Reagan Mason and Shaylee Hebb added two RBIs each for the Lady Bucs, while Kennedy Marple, Sarah Coffman, Mason and Sophie Lantz all had three hits.
Lainey Rohr went all six innings to earn the win, allowing three hits and striking out seven.
The Lady Hornets took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on Hailey Riffle's RBI single and an error.
But the Little Lady Bucs answered with two runs in each of the second and third innings to take a 5-2 lead.
They tacked on one in the fourth, two in the fifth and six in the sixth as the game ended after EMS batted in the bottom of the frame due to the mercy rule.
Riffle had a double and three RBIs for Elkins.
Peyton Wright also had a hit.
Maddie Lambert worked five innings in taking the loss, striking out two.
Riffle finished in relief.
B-UMS improved to 15-1 on the season and is scheduled to visit Tucker Valley at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Elkins is slated to visit Barrackville at 6:30 p.m. next Friday, pending no make-up contests.
