ELKINS -- Clarksburg plated nine unanswered runs over the final two innings in claiming an 11-3 win over Elkins Post 29 Wednesday night in Junior American Legion play at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.
Jacob Wamsley cracked a two-run homer to treat Elkins to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Post 13 picked up single runs in each of the third and fourth frames to draw even before Post 29 regained the lead in the home-half of the fourth when Brock Holland doubled and later scored on a double steal.
In the sixth, two costly Post 29 errors allowed Clarksburg to plate three runs in the start of a six-run outburst. Liam Jeffries added an RBI sacrifice fly in the inning, while two more runs crossed on a passed ball and wild pitch.
Rylan Rock added a two-run single and Joey Aman a run-producing single in the seventh for Post 13.
Rylan Wimer took the loss in relief of starter Caleb McCauley, who went the first 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and fanning three.
Aman earned the win in 2 2/3 innings of relief. He gave up one run on two hits and struck out three.
J.D. Ford started, going 2 1/3 innings and surrendering two runs on two hits and recording four strikeouts.
Holland had two hits to pace Elkins at the plate.
Rock had four RBIs on two hits in the win. Ford and Xavier Carvelli added two safeties each.
Post 29 is now 0-3 and will remain home at 6 p.m. today to face Kingwood.
