Area teams take to the road tonight

ELKINS -- Elkins, Buckhannon-Upshur, Tygarts Valley and Tucker County will all be on the road tonight for Week 6 of the high school football season.

The Tigers (0-4) travel to Grafton (0-5) in a battle of teams seeking their first wins of the season.

Elkins is coming off a 48-0 setback at home to Philip Barbour last Friday, while the Bearcats dropped a 14-13 home verdict to Liberty.

B-U (2-2) looks to get back into the Class AAA playoff chase at No. 15 University (3-2) for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

The Bucs were idle last week and are tied for 18th in this week's ratings.

Tygarts Valley, which has been derailed by injuries this season, visits Richwood.

The Bulldogs are 0-5 and the Lumberjacks bring a 1-5 record into the contest.

Undefeated and Class A, No. 5 Tucker County travels to Pendleton County for a PVC encounter.

The Mountain Lions (4-0) cruised to a 70-19 victory last Friday night at home against Berkeley Springs.

After starting the season 0-2, the Wildcats have reeled off back-to-back wins at Grafton and Southern (Md.).

Philip Barbour, 15th in Class AA, is idle this week and will entertain East Fairmont next Friday for Homecoming.
