PARSONS -- Five first-half turnovers from Berkeley Springs allowed Class A, No. 9 Tucker County to find the end zone early and often in a 70-19 rout Friday night at R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field at Class of 1984 Alumni Stadium.
The Mountain Lions, who improved to 4-0 with the win, showed no ill effects of coming off a bye-week as they jumped out to a 8-0 lead when Jared Reall scampered in for a 9-yard touchdown at the 8:54 mark of the opening quarter.
After forcing a quick punt from the Indians (0-5), Ethan Rosenau, who was 12 of 21 for 242 yards passing, threw a 20-yard touchdown strike to Maddox Anderson on the first play of Tucker County's ensuing drive, extending the lead to 14-0.
The Mountain Lions then recovered a fumble by the visitors, setting up a William McCallister 4-yard touchdown run with 4:02 to play in the opening stanza.
With 2:33 left to play in the quarter, Tucker County extended the lead to 26-0 when Rosenau hit Anderson again, this time for a 13-yard touchdown reception.
Berkeley Springs' third turnover of the half gave the ball back to the hosts and Rosenau struck again, connecting with Reall for a 5-yard touchdown with 11:04 left in the second quarter.
Another fumble from the Indians set up Reall's third score of the half as he raced in for a 19-yard touchdown to make it 42-0 with 9:32 remaining in the first half.
Berkeley Springs finally got on the board with 2:36 left in the second quarter when Holden Gurson intercepted a Rosenau pass and sprinted down the field for a 90-yard touchdown.
The Mountain Lions capped off the scoring in the second quarter when Rosenau threw his fourth touchdown pass of the half, a 30-yard aerial to Anderson, that put the hosts in front 48-6 at intermission.
Gurson collected his second pick-six of the game and ran in for a 35-yard TD early in the third quarter to cut Tucker County's lead to 48-13.
Reall, who rushed for 116 yards, answered with his fourth score of the game on a 52-yard run and Rosenau threw a 69-yard touchdown pass to Wilfong on a third-and-50 play that pushed the lead to 64-13. It was Rosenau's fifth and final touchdown pass of the game.
Wilfong had four catches for 99 yards.
Austin Patton scored the Indians' first offensive touchdown of the game with 11 minutes left when Austin Patton plunged in the end zone from 1-yard out to make it 64-19.
Berkeley Springs, which will travel to Oak Glen next Friday, had eight turnovers in the game.
Tucker County added a late score to round out the scoring in the contest and will travel to Pendleton County the same evening.
