PARSONS -- Tucker County plays its first home playoff game in 10 years this evening when East Hardy visits R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field at Class of 1984 Alumni Stadium for a Class A first-round matchup.
The contest, set to begin at 7:30 p.m., was originally scheduled for Friday night but moved up a day due to possible weather issues from Tropical Storm Nicole.
The seventh-seeded Mountain Lions (9-1) feature a high-powered offense led by junior quarterback Ethan Rosaneu, who has thrown for 2,810 yards and 35 touchdowns this season.
His top targets are junior Maddox Anderson, senior Trenton Wilfong and junior Blaike Adams.
Anderson has collected 41 receptions for 1,067 yards and 15 touchdowns, while Wilfong has grabbed 36 passes for 681 yards and four scores and Adams shows 38 catches for 454 yards and seven TDs on the season.
Sophomore Jared Reall is the leading rusher with 594 yards and 14 scores.
Defensive leaders include Reall (95 total tackles) and senior Dom Mullenax (83), while Adams has six interceptions and Wilfong and Anderson three apiece.
The Cougars (8-2) counter with 5-foot-10, 210-pound senior quarterback Mason Miller, who has rushed for nearly 1,000 yards and scored 28 touchdowns this season. He has also added 1,387 yards through the air with eight scores.
Juniors Tyler Tarallo and Damien Dellinger also figure in the run game. Seniors Ashton Haslacker and Dawson Price are the top receivers.
Junior defensive end Justin Parker has logged eight quarterback sacks for the defense, Miller is the top tackler with 84 total stops and Haslacker has intercepted a team-high four passes.
East Hardy held Tucker County to its lowest scoring output of the season in a 14-13 loss back in September in Parsons.
The winner of today's contest faces the victor of Saturday's game between No. 15 Clay-Battelle and No. 2 Williamstown in the quarterfinals.
