Tucker-East Hardy playoff game moved to Thursday

PARSONS -- Due to inclement weather expected from Tropical Storm Nicole, the East Hardy at Tucker County Class A first-round playoff game has been moved from Friday night to Thursday.

Game time from R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field at Class of 1984 Alumni Stadium will remain at 7:30 p.m.

In Class AAA, the Wheeling Park at Musselman game has also been moved from Friday to Thursday night.

Thursday's contest will be the first postseason game played in Parsons since 2012, when Tucker lost a 20-14 double-overtime decision to Madonna in the semifinals.

The homestanding Mountain Lions held off East Hardy, 14-13, when the teams met back on Sept. 9.

It will be the second time the squads have met during the postseason, with the Cougars taking a 30-12 victory in 2010 in a game played at Preston High School.

Tucker County is 9-1 on the season after falling at South Harrison in Friday's regular-season finale.

East Hardy enters the matchup with an 8-2 mark.
