Mountain Lions overcome slow start to beat Cougars
HAMBLETON — Class A, No. 2 Tucker County overcame a slow start to post a 60-41 win over East Hardy Wednesday afternoon in PVC play.
Trevan Bonner had 14 points and Ashton Lycliter and Garrett Wilfong nine each for the Mountain Lions, who led just 6-3 after the first quarter before opening up a 26-13 halftime edge.
J.W. Teets tossed in a game-high 18 points for the Cougars (4-3).
Tucker County is slated to face Wesley Christian at 4:45 p.m. today at Tug Valley and then meet Martin County (Ky.) at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
East Hardy, meanwhile, will return to action Jan. 3 at Berkeley Springs.
