ELKINS -- The Elkins Middle School boys basketball teams fell to Robert L. Bland Thursday night at EMS gymnasium.
The Patriots claimed the varsity contest, 57-35, as Dakarai Thompson fired in 21 points.
Devin Hulver had eight points and Collin Koontz six for the Hornets, who are now 3-6.
"Our defense was better tonight," EMS coach Brad Bennett said. "We just had too many turnovers to overcome."
RLB claimed the junior varsity contest, 44-41.
Riker Chewning led the Hornets (2-4) with nine points, followed by Elijah Bennett with eight.
Bubba Zavala had 13 and Branson Satterfield 12 for the Patriots.
Elkins is scheduled to entertain Taylor County on Tuesday, with JV action beginning at 6 p.m.
