TENNERTON -- Kendal Currence had a memorable senior night for Buckhannon-Upshur.

The forward tossed in 23 points as the Lady Bucs claimed a 59-52 victory over Class AAAA, No. 10 Parkersburg South on Saturday.

Currence and the Lady Bucs are gaining momentum as postseason action is on the horizon.

They have won three straight games and are now 11-9 entering the final week of regular-season play.

Currence has had a solid senior campaign. She is averaging nine points per game, 5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.2 steals.

B-U looks to capture its second straight sectional title this season.

The Lady Bucs went 19-6 last season, defeating University, 47-43, to claim their first sectional banner since the 2017-18 campaign, when they lost a heartbreaker in the then Class AAA title game to Parkersburg.

Currence has been a key a contributer during her career at B-U. She overcame an injury in the early stages of last year's sectional win over University by tallying a team-high 13 points, while collecting seven rebounds and four steals.

Currence was also a standout on the volleyball court for the Lady Bucs, earning Class AAA all-state honors and Big 10 Conference first-team laurels.

B-U concludes regular-season play this week, visiting Class AAAA, No. 2 Morgantown on Wednesday and old rival Elkins on Friday.
