Doddridge pulls past TVHS, 60-49

WEST UNION -- Doddridge County utilized a strong second quarter en route to a 60-49 win over Tygarts Valley Monday night in a battle of Bulldogs.

Tygarts Valley led 12-5 after one quarter before Doddridge County took the second frame, 26-3, to open up a 31-15 halftime advantage.

"We just flattened out in the second quarter after being in control much of the first," TV coach Tom Wamsley said. "We could not find someone to step up and hit a basket and then it was struggle to catch up."

Ethan McGee had 14 points and Ezra Scott 10 in the loss.

"We had it down to eight (points) with 4 minutes remaining and missed a shot, gave up a layup then had a turnover and gave up another layup," Wamsley added.

Jacob Dehaven had 15 points and Brandon Hileman and Landon Thomas 13 each for Doddridge.

Jacob Wamsley had 16 and Kendall Armstrong 13 in Tygarts Valley's 43-40 loss in the JV tilt.

TV hosts Pocahontas County on Wednesday.
