WEST LIBERTY -- Alderson Broaddus senior Dwayne Johnson recently captured first in the Mountain East Conference Wrestling Championships held at West Liberty.
Johnson earned a 3-2 decision over Notre Dame College's Marvelous Rutledge in the 197-pound finals.
It was Johnson's first MEC title.
"I'm so happy for Dwayne," Battlers coach Sam Gardner said. "He earned this championship with hard work and unshakable positivity. He lives the lifestyle of a champion, and it paid off with a championship."
