SHINNSTON -- Albert Gonzales homered and drove in five runs to power Philip Barbour to a 15-4 Big 10 Conference win over Lincoln in five innings on Monday.
Gonzales, who was 4 for 4 and also earned the win on the mound, cracked a three-run homer in the fifth and a two-run double in the fourth.
The Colts trailed 4-3 after two innings before scoring 12 unanswered runs.
They plated three runs in the third, six in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Mason Halfin, Tyler Sisson and Miles Hutzler all added two RBIs each, while Alfred Isch had a solo homer in the first, collected three hits and scored three runs.
Kale Wolfe, Brayden Cole, Sisson and Hutzler all had two hits.
After allowing four runs and three hits over the first two innings, Gonzales yielded just one hit in the final three frames.
He fanned four and walked four.
Corbin Ayers had a double for the Cougars in the loss.
Lance Hostuttler was the losing pitcher, allowing seven runs on nine hits in going the first three innings. He had two strikeouts and walked two.
Philip Barbour (8-8) will travel to Elkins at 5 p.m. today.
