Lady Mountain Lions drop tilts to Pendleton, PB

PARSONS -- Tucker County dropped a pair of games Thursday at Camp Kidd.

In the completion of a game halted earlier this month due to rain, the Lady Mountain Lions dropped a 10-8 decision to Pendleton County.

Tucker County trailed 10-4 before scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh, taking advantage of four Lady Wildcat errors.

Kate Simmons had two RBIs in the setback and Raven Matthews hit a run-scoring double.

Lizzie Alt slugged a three-run homer for Pendleton County.

In the nightcap, Philip Barbour plated four runs over the final two frames to garner a 5-2 win over the Lady Mountain Lions.

Preslee Fincham had an RBI in each inning for the Lady Colts, while Payton Holbert an RBI single and Katielynn Warner a run-scoring single.

Avery McDaniel went all seven innings to earn the win, allowing six hits and striking out seven.

Katie Hicks had two hits and Autumn Russell an RBI for Tucker County.

Corrina Lipscomb took the loss. She gave up three runs on three hits in going the first 5 1/3 innings, striking out two.

The Lady Mountain Lions (10-11) remain home at 5:30 p.m. today to face Elkins for a pair of contests.

Philip Barbour (15-8) will begin sectional action next week.
