Lincoln gets past Lady Colts, 3-1

LINCOLN -- Top-seed Lincoln used a two-run double by Cadence Lambert in the sixth inning to get past No. 2 Philip Barbour, 3-1, Monday night in the winner's bracket of the Class AA, Region II, Section 1 tourney.

The Lady Colts will now host Robert C. Byrd today, with the winner moving on to face Lincoln on Wednesday.

PB tied the game in the top of the sixth when Makayla Gonzales singled in Katie Kennedy, who had led of the frame with a single.

Gonzales had two hits in the setback, while Lambert had an RBI single in the fourth for the Lady Cougars.

Delaney Haller went the distance to earn the win, allowing four hits and fanning 11 with no walks.

Avery McDaniel gave up eight hits and struck out four in taking the loss in a complete-game effort.
