PB’s McDaniel named Big 10 Pitcher of Year
Lady Colts and Lady Bucs place players on first and second teams

PHILIPPI -- Philip Barbour's Avery McDaniel has been named the Big 10 Conference Pitcher of the Year.
McDaniel was joined on the first team by teammates Katelyn Cooper (catcher), Katie Kennedy (outfield) and Makayla Gonzales (utility).
McDaniel, Cooper and Gonzales are all sophomores, while Kennedy is a junior.
Buckhannon-Upshur junior pitcher Jansen Kimble also earned first-team laurels.
The other pitcher selected to the first unit was Lincoln senior Delaney Haller, who was tabbed the league's Player of the Year.
Robert C. Byrd's Gina Alvaro was the other first-team catcher, while infielders included Lincoln's Alexis Williams and Karriss Drain, RCB's Avery Childers, Lewis County's Courtney Boggs and Bridgeport's Rachel Mason.
Joining Kennedy as the first-team outfielders were Lincoln's Emalee Brown and Emily Robey, along with RCB's Alyssa Dunn.
The remainder of the utility selections included Lincoln's Cadence Lambert, Bridgeport's Chloe Pethel and Liberty's Charlee Johnson.
Philip Barbour junior Katielynn Warner was chosen for the second team as one of the infielders.
B-U players on the second unit were sophomore infielder Taylor Spratt, sophomore outfielder Alyssa Abel and sophomore utility selection Kailey Hart.
Rounding out the second team were pitchers Lillie Crimm (Grafton), Destiny Coble (Liberty) and North Marion's Rayden Satterfield; catchers Courtney Hartley (Lewis County) and Jordan Niggemyer (Grafton); infielders Addison Veigel (Bridgeport), Macey Franklin (Lewis County) and Kaileigh Spiker (Grafton); outfielders Haley Smith (North Marion), Kaitlyn Archer-Lewis (Bridgeport) and Kadence Crock (Liberty); and utility players Adrianna Floyd (North Marion), Kileigh Pugh (Bridgeport) and Aliyah Elder (Lincoln).
Yancey Weaver of league champion Lincoln was selected as Coach of the Year.
