Teams competing, along with the Bulldogs, were the Elkins, Moorefield and Petersburg junior varsity squads and the Tucker County varsity team. Petersburg captured team honors with a 196, followed by Tygarts Valley (203), Tucker County, Moorefield and Elkins. Tygarts Valley’s Avery Row-Sponaugle tied for low-medalist honors with a 46, while Owen Bell shot a 53, Mason Phillips a 55, Kaden Moore a 59 and Jakub Radar a 70.

ELKINS — The Randolph County Classic golf tournament will take place this weekend at the Elks Country Club Golf Course.

The individual stroke-play tourney will feature a practice round throughout today for paid participants. Then at 6 p.m. this evening, there will be a closest-to-the-pin challenge, flop-shot challenge, long-drive challenge, and a one-club challenge.

Tournament play will get underway with a qualifying round on Saturday, with foursome tee times available from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Sunday the final round of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. and lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A 50/50 drawing will take place at noon. There will be cash payouts for each flight and senior division.
