Tiger golfers place second in Big 10 play

MOUNT CLARE -- Elkins finished second in a four-team Big 10 Conference quad match Thursday at Bel Meadow Golf Course.

The Tigers carded a 177 to place behind Bridgeport's 163.

Robert C. Byrd (199) and Lincoln (229) were the other teams in the match.

Javier Crespo-Gomez shot a 42 for Elkins, followed by Luca Collier (44), Dylan Hinzman (45), Drew Hinzman (46), Lucas D'Angelo (47) and D.J. Louk (50).

"We struggled around the greens," EHS coach Dave Baird said. "We need to get that fixed if we are going to try and compete (today) in the Marion County Invitational.

"The best teams in the state will be there."
