Lady Tigers edge North

By Joey Kittle 1 min read

RACHEL -- Addy Cogar netted the winning goal as Elkins edged Big 10 Conference foe North Marion, 2-1, Thursday night in a game that ended early due to lightning.

"This was another good conference win on the road for our girls," Lady Tigers coach Scott Cutright said. "We did a really good job starting the game strong and executing our set pieces.

Cutright added the match ended just after Cogar's goal 30 minutes into the second half.

"We really got fortunate to score when we did," he said. "We have a very difficult test to finish the week when we play a powerful Winfield squad."

Darby Bailey had first-half goal for Elkins as the game was tied at 1-1 at the intermission.

The Lady Tigers (6-1) entertain the Lady Generals at 4 p.m. today.

The boys game was postponed due to lightning with the contest scoreless.

The Tigers return to action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Fairmont Senior.

Starting at /week.
