ELKINS -- Ian Crookshanks accounted for three touchdowns as Class AA, No. 8 East Fairmont pulled away from Elkins for a 24-7 win Friday night on Senior Night at EHS Stadium.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Bees (7-1) took a 7-0 at the 7:55 mark of the second quarter when Ian Crookshanks turned a broken play into a score when he corralled a bad snap and tossed a 54-yard touchdown pass to Hoyt Michael.
East Fairmont extended its lead to 10-0 just before the half when Karson Church kicked a 26-yard field goal with 4.4 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
The Bees pushed the deficit to 17-0 with 7:22 to play in the third quarter when Crookshanks ran into the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown.
East Fairmont capped off its scoring early in the fourth quarter when Crookshanks hit paydirt again on another run.
The Tigers (1-8) got on the board with 6:29 remaining when Nick Bowers scampered in for a 1-yard touchdown. Bowers finished the contest with 108 yards rushing on 26 carries.
Dominic Fantasia collected 92 yards rushing for the Bees, who will visit Lewis County next Friday. Crookshanks finished the game with 35 yards rushing and was 11 of 21 through the air for 162 yards.
Elkins will be off next week before ending the season on Nov. 3 at Robert C. Byrd.
