PARKERSBURG -- Tucker County has taken over the top spot in the WVSSAC Class A playoff ratings, released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions enter their bye week with a perfect 7-0 mark after claiming a 34-13 win at then-No. 14 Moorefield on Friday night.
They return to action Oct. 20 at home against Smithsburg (Md.).
Tucker County jumped from third. The Mountain Lions are followed by Man, Williamstown, Greenbrier West and James Monroe in the top five.
East Hardy, which lost a verdict to Tucker County earlier this season, is 12th with a 4-2 record.
After dropping its first game of the season last Thursday night at East Fairmont, Philip Barbour (5-1) fell from fifth to eighth in Class AA
The Bees, meanwhile, are now 10th.
Roane County is first, with North Marion, Scott, Fairmont Senior and Mingo Central comprising the top five.
The Colts return home Friday night to battle 1-5 Robert C. Byrd.
Philip Barbour also has games remaining against No. 11 Lewis County, 16th-rated Lincoln and Preston.
Huntington, Cabell Midland, Hurricane, Morgantown and Martinsburg are the top five teams in Class AAA.
Bridgeport is tied for sixth with Spring Mills.
The top 16 teams in each class qualifies for the playoffs set to begin next month.
