PHILIPPI -- When the Philip Barbour girls soccer team hits the field Thursday in Beckley, it will be the fourth straight season the Lady Colts have played in the Class AA-A state soccer tournament.

On a senior-led squad, freshman Rylee Bodkins has played a big part in Philip Barbour's success this season.

The Lady Colts and coach Blake Williams have one of the premier girls soccer programs in the state.

Philip Barbour is 18-2-2, with the lone losses coming at defending Class AAA state champion Morgantown and on the road at four-time Class AA-A champion Charleston Catholic, which has defeated the Lady Colts in the last two state title matches.

Philip Barbour also went undefeated in the challenging Big 10 Conference this season with a 12-0 mark.

In the regional championship game, Bodkins tallied a goal and assisted on another in the Lady Colts' 2-0 win over Elkins.

She now has 18 goals, third highest on the team, and nine assists.

The Lady Colts face a familiar foe in the semifinals, set for approximately 7 p.m. Thursday at the YMCA Youth Sports Complex in Beckley.

Philip Barbour is the second seed and faces No. 3 Point Pleasant (14-1-6).

The teams battled to a 4-4 draw earlier this season in Philippi.

In the other semifinal, top-seed Charleston Catholic (18-1-2) battles No. 4 Weir (16-2-5) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The title game will be held Saturday at noon.
