PARSONS -- With one game remaining in the regular season, Tucker County remained first in the Class A playoff ratings released Tuesday afternoon by the WVSSAC.

The Mountain Lions (9-0) held off a late rally by visiting Petersburg to take a 30-27 win this past Friday night as Jared Reall rushed for 108 yards and Ethan Rosenau had touchdown passes to Maddox Anderson and Garrett Wilfong. Blaike Adams also had a rushing score.

Tucker County led 30-14 in the third quarter before the Vikings cut the lead to 30-27 with 4:15 left in regulation.

The Mountain Lions host Class AAA opponent Hampshire this Friday night.

Greenbrier West, Williamstown, James Monroe and Wahama round out the top five in Class A.

East Hardy (5-3) is 11th.

Philip Barbour, meanwhile, moved up one spot to 10th in Class AA after rolling past Lincoln on Friday night.

The Colts (7-2) are seeking to move back among the top eight and secure the first home playoff game in school history but need a win at Class AAA Preston on Friday night, along with some help to leap frog Herbert Hoover and East Fairmont, which handed Philip Barbour a loss earlier this season.

North Marion, Scott, Roane County, Fairmont Senior and Weir comprise the double-A top five.

Cabell Midland is first in Class AAA, followed by Hurricane, Martinsburg, Huntington and Jefferson.
