Webster surges by TV girls

MILL CREEK --Webster County outscored Tygarts Valley, 39-13, over the second and third quarters en route to a 66-40 win Wednesday night at Weber-Wamsley Court.

The Lady Bulldogs, playing their final home game of the regular season, led 11-8 after the opening quarter, before the Lady Highlanders stormed back to take the second frame, 18-4, and the third period, 21-9.

Maddie Williams tossed in 17 points and Hannah Wayne 10 for Webster County, which has won four straight to improve to 7-9 on the season.

Sarah Defibaugh tallied 13 and Summer Lewis-Smith nine for Tygarts Valley.

The teams meet again Friday night in Upper Glade in the final regular-season contest for both squads.
