TENNERTON -- Senior Caleb Ray led the way for the Elkins High School track team Tuesday night at a five-team meet hosted by Buckhannon-Upshur.
Ray picked up two individual victories in the 100-meter dash (11.83) and 200 (23.35).
Ben Tenney also won an individual event for the Tigers in the 800-meter run (2:03.47) and ran the opening leg of the winning 4×800 meter relay (8:44) team. Gavin Brown, Logan Rowan and Trevor George also chipped in on the winning EHS unit.
As for boys team scoring, East Fairmont (123 points) outpaced Buckhannon-Upshur (98), Elkins (77), Grafton (49) and Tucker County (26).
On the girls side, East Fairmont also took top honors with 134 points. B-U took second with 99 and was trailed by Elkins (54), Grafton (46) and Tucker County (22).
For the EHS girls, Kat Hinchman took top honors in the discus (92-10), Mallory Bennett won the 800 (2:44), Emilia Tenney won the 1600m (5:38) and Delia White the 3,200 in a time of 14:16.
Bennett was also on the winning 4×800 meter relay team, along with Julia Biola, White and Mya Mendelson.
Elkins returns to action Friday at the UMWA Husky Invitational, which is hosted by North Marion High School.
Field events for that competition begin at 4:30 p.m.
